CONTEMPLATING KISSING YOU
         by Oliver Brown

Last night there was temptation
Last night I felt a need
But overcome with timidness
I was quick to concede.

I love the nervous tension
That fills our gauche good-byes
Am I blind to the subtleties
That might leak from your eyes.

Was that pause just a breath?
Or was it meant as a clue?
Oh, the thrill to be scared to death

Contemplating kissing you-hoo-hoo
Contemplating kissing you-hoo-hoo
Contemplating kissing you.

How can it be so awkward?
Don't kisses just appear?
I shouldn't have to ask of you
To make your hints more clear.

Tonight I'll watch more closely
For your sweet pantomime
Some signal that will telegraph
To me that it is time.

Was that wink dust in your eye?
Or was it meant as a cue?
There's no rulebook to go by
Contemplating kissing you-hoo-hoo
Contemplating kissing you-hoo-hoo
Contemplating kissing you.
